About Maze Escape Challenge
Mazes are usually a leisurely genre. Not this one — the star rating is tied entirely to how fast you get out, so a maze you have solved is still a maze you have not mastered. Three stars means finding the route and executing it without a single wrong turn.
The dark levels are where it turns nasty. Visibility shrinks to a small circle around your marker, junctions arrive with no warning, and the mental map you would normally build from above has to be constructed by feel. Traps and layout surprises appear as the levels climb. It is a short, sharp format, and beating your own recorded time is more of a draw than reaching the next stage.
How to play
Guide your marker from the entrance to the exit without touching the walls. Every level is a fresh labyrinth, and completion time decides whether you take one, two or three stars. Stars unlock what comes next.
Controls
- Hold the mouse button down and steer the marker along the corridors; it follows the pointer in any direction.
- Touch works the same way with a fingertip, though the wider mazes are easier to read on a landscape screen.
Tips
- Look at the exit before you move. On the lit levels a few seconds spent tracing the route from the far end saves more than they cost.
- Follow one wall consistently in the dark levels. It is slower than a good guess and far faster than a bad one.
- Corners cost time because you slow down to avoid clipping. Aim for routes with fewer turns even if they cover more distance.
