About Stick War Saga

Real-time strategy normally asks for base layouts and hotkey drills. This strips all of that back to one horizontal lane, two bases and an economy made of miners. You buy units from a bar along the bottom, they walk towards the enemy, and they fight whatever they meet on the way.

The interesting decisions are about ratios. Too many miners and your line collapses; too many swordsmen and the gold dries up before theirs does. Early campaign maps can be brute-forced by spamming a single unit type, and then a map arrives where that unit is countered outright and you have to start reading the opposing composition properly.

How to play

  1. Send miners to the gold and let income build.
  2. Buy fighters from the unit bar as the money allows.
  3. Order an advance when your line outnumbers theirs, and hold when it does not.
  4. Break through and destroy the opposing statue to take the map.

Controls

  • Everything runs through clicks on the unit bar and the battlefield. No keyboard required.
  • Touch works identically, and the icons are large enough for a thumb, though a wider screen makes the lane easier to read at a glance.

Tips

  • Keep mining for the whole match. Income that stops early is the single most common reason a strong opening turns into a loss.
  • Gather new units behind the front line rather than sending them forward one at a time. A trickle gets picked off.
  • Check what the enemy is spawning before committing gold. A wave of archers wants a different answer than shielded infantry.
