About Connect the Dots - Color Lines
Pairs of coloured dots sit on a grid, and each pair needs a line joining it. Simple to state; the difficulty comes from the fact that the lines share the same board and cannot pass through one another. Route a blue line the obvious way and the red pair on the far side suddenly has no path at all.
Presentation is deliberately calm — clean lines, soft colours, no timer, no failure state to speak of. It sits in the same space as a solitaire hand you deal out while thinking about something else. The early puzzles resolve almost by themselves; the larger grids need you to plan the whole layout before drawing anything.
How to play
Draw a path from one dot to its matching partner, then repeat for every colour on the board. Paths cannot overlap or cross. Most levels also want the grid completely filled, so a technically valid solution that leaves empty squares will not be accepted.
Controls
- Press and hold, then draw the route with the mouse, releasing at the partner dot.
- On a phone the identical drag works under a fingertip, and drawing over an existing line simply redraws it.
Tips
- Connect the pairs sitting nearest the edges of the grid first. Their routes have the fewest alternatives and they define the space left in the middle.
- If a colour has an obvious straight line between its dots, that is often wrong — direct routes leave dead squares behind.
- When one pair refuses to connect, redraw the longest existing line rather than picking at the short ones.
