About Coe Snake
Snake, except the arena is not empty. Alongside the fruit you are chasing there are meteors coming down, bombs sitting exactly where you wanted to turn, and balls bouncing off the walls like a slow game of ping pong. The original punished carelessness about your own body. This version also punishes standing still.
That addition genuinely changes the strategy. A long snake used to be difficult only because it was hard to steer; now it is also hard to keep clear of hazards that move on their own schedule. Several modes and arena layouts are on offer, along with a choice of fruit, so the difficulty can be set to taste.
How to play
Eat fruit, grow longer, and stay away from the walls, the hazards and yourself. Each fruit adds length, and that length is simultaneously your score and your main problem.
Controls
- WASD or the arrow keys steer on a keyboard — W and Up for up, A and Left for left, and so on through the four directions.
- On a phone, four on-screen arrow buttons cover the same four directions.
Tips
- Circle the outside of the arena once the board gets busy. Meteors and loose balls tend to converge in the middle.
- Skip a fruit with a bomb beside it. Another appears soon enough and the trade is rarely worth taking.
- Leave a gap between your body and the wall. A one-tile corridor gives you nowhere to go when something bounces through.
