About Drunken Fighters

The joke is in the physics. Both fighters are loose-jointed puppets who stagger, overbalance and occasionally knock themselves down without any help from the opponent. Landing a punch is less about precision than about swinging at a moment when your own body happens to be pointing the right way.

Where it gets genuinely funny is the Funny Mod list — Stretch Kick, Stretch Punch, Big Punch, Super Punch, Big Head, and a Random setting that picks for you without warning. Two people on the same device with Random enabled is the version worth showing someone. There is a solo mode against the machine, but the modifiers are wasted on it.

How to play

Knock the other fighter down. You have a defence, a kick and a punch, and that is the whole vocabulary. Because momentum carries your fighter forward after every swing, missing has a cost — you end up sprawled somewhere with no guard up.

Controls

  • Playing alone — A defends, S kicks, D punches.
  • Two on one keyboard — the first player keeps A, S and D; the second uses the right arrow to defend, the down arrow to kick and the left arrow to punch.
  • Touchscreens show on-screen buttons for every action, so a phone or tablet works in landscape.

Tips

  • Throw single strikes rather than sequences. A second swing usually lands you on the canvas by yourself.
  • Defence stops you toppling as much as it stops damage — hold it while you regain balance.
  • With the stretch modifiers on, range beats timing entirely. Stand further back than feels sensible.
