About Jump Dash
Your first attempt at any level is reconnaissance. You will not clear it, and the game does not really expect you to. The layouts are made to be learned, with each spike, gap and trap sitting on a beat you eventually feel rather than see coming.
That makes it either the best or the worst sort of game depending on temperament. Progress is not gradual — you fail the same jump twenty times and then clear the entire section cleanly on the twenty-first. What keeps it fair is the instant restart and the fact that every death is legibly your own timing rather than something hidden from you.
How to play
Keep the character on course and press jump at each obstacle. Levels never change, so the route is fixed and the difficulty lies entirely in executing a sequence you already know. Reach the end of a stage without touching a hazard to move on.
Controls
- The space bar is the only key required on a keyboard.
- A tap anywhere does the same thing, and it holds up fine on a phone in landscape.
Tips
- Count the obstacles in a section rather than reacting to each one. Sequences are easier to hold in memory than reflexes are to sharpen.
- When a jump keeps failing by a hair, press slightly later. Early presses are far more common than late ones.
- Step away after a dozen failures on the same spot. Timing tends to get worse, not better, once frustration sets in.
