About Magic Tiles 3
Four lanes, a stream of black tiles sliding toward a line at the bottom, and a song playing underneath. That is the whole idea, and it holds up because the tiles are cut to the music rather than dropped at a steady rate. The library spans pop, EDM, hip-hop and plenty besides, so difficulty is partly a matter of which track you pick.
Early songs feel almost too forgiving. Then a piece introduces long tiles you have to hold through a sustained note, or wide tiles that need two fingers landing together, and the run stops being about speed and starts being about reading a bar ahead.
How to play
Hit each black tile as it reaches the strike line, in the lane it occupies. Miss one, or catch a white gap by mistake, and the song stops there. Accuracy across the full track sets your score.
Controls
- Touch: tap the lane a tile sits in, hold your finger down for sustained tiles, and land two fingers together on double-width ones.
- Desktop: click within a lane, holding the button down for the long tiles.
- Portrait orientation, so a phone held upright is the natural fit.
Tips
- Watch the row above the one you are hitting. Reacting at the line itself is already too late.
- Long tiles keep scoring for their full length, so release only once the tile has passed completely.
- If a song keeps beating you, switch to one you know well. Anticipating the melody helps more than fast fingers.
