About Merge Fruit
There is no board to clear and no move counter. You drop fruit into a tall container and identical pieces that touch fuse into the next size up, which then needs another partner of its own. The early minutes are almost thoughtless, since small fruit merges constantly and the pile barely grows. Then the mid-sized pieces arrive, refuse to find partners, and the container starts running out of headroom.
The strategy is entirely about placement. A large fruit landed in the wrong spot cannot be moved, and everything you drop afterwards has to work around it.
How to play
Move the fruit across the top of the container and release it. Merges resolve on contact, so one drop can set off a run of combinations if the pile beneath is arranged well. Keep going until the largest fruit appears, or the stack rises past the line.
Controls
- Drag left and right along the top of the container, then release to drop
- This one is built for a portrait desktop window without touch support, so a mouse or trackpad handles the placement
Tips
- Sort by size against one wall. Big at the bottom of one side, small at the other, and merges will cascade naturally.
- Never drop a large fruit into the middle, because it splits the container into two cramped halves.
- Small pieces stranded on top of large ones are dead weight. Clear them before adding height.
