About Monster Slayers
Each attempt starts you plain and unarmed of anything interesting, and the monsters arrive in a steady trickle that becomes a wall. Attacks fire on their own, so what you actually do is move — circling, kiting, and keeping enough open ground that the horde never closes into a ring around you.
The upgrades are drawn between waves, and because the offers differ every time, no two runs build the same hero. One attempt might turn into a fast, fragile character that never stops running; the next hands you enough area damage to stand still and let the crowd walk in. The unusually wide choice of control schemes suggests it expects people to play it in very different postures.
How to play
Survive. Keep moving, gather what the monsters drop, and pick an upgrade each time the wave clears. The run ends when your health does, and the only progress that carries is your own understanding of which upgrade combinations hold up.
Controls
- Keyboard movement works on arrow keys, WASD, IJKL, or the numpad 8-4-2-6 cluster.
- The mouse can steer the character instead, if you prefer pointing to pressing.
- On phones and tablets, virtual thumbsticks appear on screen and handle movement well in landscape.
Tips
- Pick a direction and commit to a wide circle. Reversing into the pack you just outran is the most common death.
- Upgrades that increase your attack area are worth more than raw damage once waves start overlapping.
- Leave the drops on the floor if collecting them means walking into a crowd — they will still be there after the sweep.
