About Sokoban Push The Box

One rule defines the entire genre: you push, you never pull. Shove a crate against a wall and it can still slide along that wall. Shove it into a corner and it is finished, permanently, and so is your attempt — often several moves before you realise anything went wrong.

The mazes here are built around that cruelty. Tight corridors, doorways only one crate wide, and layouts that invite the obvious first push precisely because the obvious first push is the mistake. A move counter runs alongside, so there is a second goal past merely finishing: doing it without the wandering.

How to play

Move your character around the warehouse and push each crate onto a marked target square. Crates move one tile at a time and only away from you, so you must be standing on the opposite side of the box from where you want it to go. Every target covered completes the level.

Controls

  • Click or tap where you want to move, on desktop and touch alike.
  • The portrait layout works on a phone, though the tighter grids are easier to read on a larger screen.

Tips

  • Solve the level backwards in your head. Work out which square each crate must end on, then which side you need to be standing on to get it there.
  • Never push a crate flush against a wall unless a target sits on that wall. Once it is there, it only slides in one dimension.
  • Deal with the crate nearest the exit or corridor mouth first, before your own route through the room gets blocked.
