About Supermarket Simulator: Dream Store

The starting unit is bare, and the first shelves you place determine the paths customers will take for a long time afterwards. That makes the early layout decisions more consequential than they look — a display in the wrong spot creates a dead corner that never sees a shopper.

Once trade picks up, the game shifts from building to accounting. You are setting margins, running discounts, deciding when a marketing push is worth its cost, and hiring staff whose skills and motivation both affect how well the floor runs. It rewards patience rather than reflexes, and each in-game day compounds on the last.

How to play

Place shelves and stock them, then open the doors. Serve customers and keep the queues moving, price goods so they sell without gutting your margin, and hire people once you cannot cover the floor alone. Reinvest the profit in new departments, extra displays and decoration that pulls more footfall in.

Controls

  • Everything runs through the mouse — click to place fixtures, open menus, set prices and manage staff.
  • There is no touch version, so this belongs on a desktop or laptop.

Tips

  • Keep high-margin goods on the route between the door and the till rather than at the back.
  • A discount that empties a shelf you cannot restock quickly costs you more than it earns.
  • Staff motivation slips quietly. Check it before blaming the layout for slow service.
