About Arcade GP
Most browser racers ignore strategy entirely. This one builds the whole thing around it. Tyres degrade as you push, grip falls away in a way you can feel through the corners, and at some point you have to decide whether to come in or gamble on the rubber lasting.
The pit stop is not a cutscene either. It hands you a small minigame mapped to the numpad, one key per corner of the car, and a fumbled stop costs real positions. Add an ERS-style overtake boost on a separate key and you get something with more decisions than its simple top-down presentation suggests.
How to play
Race the AI field across a grand prix weekend structure. Manage how hard you lean on the tyres, call your own pit stop when the grip has gone, complete the tyre change accurately, and use the overtake boost where it counts. Finishing well is usually about stopping at the right moment rather than out-driving anyone.
Controls
- W accelerates, shift brakes, A and D steer, R resets, C switches camera
- Enter triggers the ERS overtake boost
- P calls a pit stop during a grand prix
- In the pit lane, 7 and 9 handle the front wheels while 1 and 3 handle the rears
- Mobile uses on-screen steering, a throttle slider and dedicated pit and overtake buttons, in landscape
Tips
- Feel for the moment turn-in goes vague. That is the tyre telling you to pit, well before the lap times collapse.
- Keep a hand near the numpad on your in-lap. The stop starts immediately.
- Spend the boost defending a position rather than chasing one. Losing places is more expensive than gaining them.
