About Hunter Underwater Spearfishing
Aiming underwater is not the same as aiming on land, and the game leans hard on that difference. Fish move in arcs rather than straight lines, the water blurs the space between you and them, and a spear that misses has to be recovered before the next attempt.
This sits closer to a simulation than a shooting gallery. The pace is deliberate, the descent takes time, and the reward for patience is one clean shot rather than a spray of hits. Anyone who finds arcade shooters too twitchy will probably get on with the rhythm here.
How to play
Swim down, choose a target, lead it far enough that the spear and the fish arrive in the same place, then fire. Landed catches build your total, while misses cost time you would rather have spent going deeper.
Controls
- Point and click to aim and fire. The whole game runs off a single mouse button.
- Tap to do the same on touch, which suits it well since each shot is one deliberate input rather than a stream of them.
Tips
- Aim ahead of the fish rather than at it. Nearly every early miss is a shot fired at a position the target has already left.
- Larger fish move more slowly and pay more, which makes them the better use of a limited descent.
- Hold still for a moment after arriving at depth. Nothing scatters nearby fish faster than sudden movement.
