The Onet formula gets two additions here, and both push against each other. A countdown runs on every board, so hesitation costs stars. A combo streak rewards matches made in quick succession, so hesitation costs points as well. Together they turn a normally contemplative tile puzzle into something you play at pace.
The emoji set is the other complication. With hundreds of icons in rotation, several look near enough alike at tile size that a hurried match simply fails to register, and the streak resets while you work out why.
How to play
Link two identical emoji tiles with a path that turns no more than twice, and both clear. Empty the grid before the timer expires to earn stars. Hints point out a valid pair when the board stops making sense, and a shuffle rearranges the remaining tiles.
Controls
- Click two matching tiles in turn to draw the connecting line
- Tapping works well on a phone, though the smaller icons are easier to distinguish on a tablet
Tips
- Keep your eyes moving. Locate the next pair while the current one is still animating, and the streak survives.
- Save the shuffle for a genuine dead end rather than a slow patch.
- When two emoji look alike, compare the outer shape instead of the face. Silhouettes differ more than expressions do.
