About Rooftop Run
A gap opens between two buildings, a barrier sits on the far ledge, and you have about a second to decide whether to go around it or fire through it. That decision, repeated at speed, is most of Rooftop Run. It is a three-dimensional runner with more verbs than the genre usually allows, since you move in four directions, shoot, and boost.
The boost is the interesting part. Spending it early makes the level shorter but every reaction window tighter, and with something chasing you, sitting at a comfortable speed carries its own risk. Levels are structured rather than endless, so there is an actual finish to reach.
How to play
Run the rooftop course to its end. Move between lanes to dodge what you cannot break, shoot the barriers blocking the path, and use boost to put distance between yourself and whatever is behind.
Controls
- Arrow keys move up, down, left and right.
- Spacebar fires the weapon.
- Shift triggers a boost.
- On a phone, drag the on-screen joystick to move and tap the fire and boost buttons.
Tips
- Save boost for straight, empty stretches. Spending it into a cluttered section rarely ends well.
- Shooting a barrier slightly before you arrive costs no speed, unlike a last-second swerve.
- Sit in a middle lane by default, since it leaves an escape route open on both sides.
