About ColorWars.io - Conquest Game
Three opponents rather than one, which changes the shape of every match. Ground you take from one player is ground the other two are not taking, and a strong early lead tends to attract attention from everyone still behind. Being the obvious leader with a minute left on the clock is not the comfortable position it sounds like.
The card set is small and each type does something distinct — Warriors hold ground, Rangers reach further, Thunder and Wizard bring their own effects. Gold from matches upgrades individual cards, and because you only need a top-two finish to earn trophies, a defensive second place is a perfectly viable strategy.
How to play
Drag a card from your hand onto the board to deploy its unit, then let it fight for the territory it lands in. Whoever controls the most ground when the timer expires wins, with second place still earning something. Spend the gold afterwards on strengthening whichever cards you actually use.
Controls
- Drag and drop with the mouse on a computer, or with a finger on a touchscreen.
- The touch version works properly, and the cards are sized for thumbs in landscape.
Tips
- Deploy into contested edges rather than the middle of your own colour. Reinforcing safe ground wins nothing.
- Let the clock set your aggression. With time on the board, deploy into borders you can expand from; in the final stretch, reinforce the ground that keeps you in the top two instead of chasing the leader’s colour.
- Upgrade two cards deeply instead of all four evenly; a hand of maxed staples beats a shallow full set.
