About Vortex Ball
The tunnel is the level. You are inside it, rolling forward automatically, and steering happens around the circumference rather than left and right on a flat plane. That takes a couple of runs to stop feeling disorienting, and the moment it clicks is when the game starts working.
Colours shift as you travel and the obstacles are arranged to demand quick lateral movement instead of gradual correction. Gems collected during runs go towards a shop of unlockable balls, and the collection gives you a long-term reason to keep restarting. It wants a keyboard or a mouse and is best treated as a computer game.
How to play
Get as far down the tunnel as you can. Steer around what is in the way, pick up gems where the line allows it, and accept that the speed will eventually outpace you. Distance is the score.
Controls
- WASD steers, or drag with the mouse if you prefer continuous control to discrete steps.
- No touch support, so leave this one for the desktop.
Tips
- The mouse drag offers finer control than the keys once the tunnel starts rotating quickly.
- Do not divert for a gem unless it is already close to your line. The detour costs more runs than the gem is worth.
- Watch the far end of the tunnel rather than the section directly ahead. Obstacles read as patterns at a distance and as walls up close.
