About Dice Puzzle

Two details separate this from the usual number-merging grid. First, dice merge in groups of three or more rather than pairs, so a lone spare face is not automatically useful. Second, diagonal contact counts, which means corners are live connections and a well-placed die can join clusters that look unrelated.

The tray complicates things further. Pieces arrive singly or as joined pairs, and a pair has to fit both halves somewhere sensible. Storage slots let you shelve an awkward piece, but only a few, and filling them is how most runs quietly end.

How to play

Take the piece offered in the tray and place it on an empty cell. When three or more dice showing the same face are connected, they merge automatically into one die of the next value, which may itself complete a further merge. Space is finite, so the run continues until nowhere is left to place.

Controls

  • Drag a die or pair from the tray onto the grid cell you want
  • Click a tray piece to rotate a pair before placing it
  • Dragging and tapping both work by touch on phones and tablets

Tips

  • Use diagonals deliberately. Placing on a corner can link two separate groups in one move.
  • Keep storage for pieces that would break a chain, not for ones you simply dislike.
  • Leave a clear edge row. Recovering from a full centre is much harder than from a full corner.
