About Word Connect Puzzle
You get a handful of letters arranged in a circle and an empty crossword frame above them. Every word the frame will accept can be built from those letters, so the puzzle is less about vocabulary recall than about noticing which combinations you have overlooked. Four letters, six letters, then longer, and the packs tighten as they go.
The pacing is gentle. Nothing is timed, hints are available when a grid stalls, and stars and streak bonuses accumulate across daily challenges. It suits reading in short bursts more than long sittings, because the satisfying moment — the last slot filling in — arrives every couple of minutes.
How to play
Trace a path through the letters to spell a word. Release, and if it fits an empty slot in the grid it drops into place. Complete the grid to move on. Words you find that are not in the grid still count towards bonus scoring.
Controls
- Desktop uses the mouse with the left button held down while you draw across letters.
- On a phone the same drag works under one thumb in portrait, which is how the layout was clearly built to be held.
Tips
- Start with the shortest slots. Three and four-letter answers pin down the intersecting letters that make the long words obvious.
- Try prefixes and suffixes as a system — add an S, then RE, then ED to a word you already found rather than searching at random.
- Spend hints on a letter in a long word, not on a short one you would have solved anyway.
